Spring Wedding Florals, Best Blooms for May and June in Ontario

March 5, 2026 · 5 min read · Toronto

Welcome sign nestled between full blush florals

Spring weddings in Ontario have one of the best floral windows of the year. May and June bring peonies, garden roses, ranunculus, sweet peas, and a wave of greenery that does not exist in any other season. Here is how to use it well.

Peonies are the star. May and early June are peak peony season in Ontario. They photograph beautifully, they smell incredible, and they bring a soft, romantic feel that no other flower replicates. Build your colour story around them.

Garden roses fill the gap. Where peonies stop, garden roses keep going through June and into July. They share peonies' softness without the price tag of out of season peonies.

Ranunculus and sweet peas add texture. Use them as accents in centerpieces and bouquets. Their soft layers add depth without taking attention away from the heroes.

Greenery comes alive in spring. Eucalyptus, smilax, and italian ruscus are at their best in May and June. We use them generously, especially for runway florals and trailing garlands on tablescapes.

Where to be careful. Spring weddings often happen outdoors, and rain can disrupt installations. Build a rain plan for any outdoor ceremony. We always do, and we have never had a wedding fail because of weather.
